Newsmeldung von slashCAM: Warning strike in Hollywood of heidi - 10 oct 2007 11:37:00
The end of October to run the current contracts between the studios and their of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) represents writers, without that it is currently able to agree on new. Issue are the royalties for sales of film on DVD and via the Internet. According to Variety, an author currently receives 4 cents per DVD at $ 15. This amount is based on an agreement dating from 1985 (when it still was no DVD, but only laser discs). The authors now require twice as others. the production costs of DVDs is not comparable with those calculations were. The studios on the other hand, want a fee then pay only if a title makes profit (Source
NY Times).

Well, the most successful films come from Hollywood ...
but true, yet says nothing about how good these movies are! =)
Antwort von Axel:
Bernd Constantin and I agree. But we do not stick in this forum, because we worship Hollywood blindly. Are they with her Lohndumping the "authors" (the Selbstplagiateure) torment, what interests us, are films that arise because they want to make creative, not because they want to make shareholders.

Of course, the "creatives" of course it is not about money, which extends the honor and a warm handshake :-)
Antwort von Blackeagle123:
Unfortunately, screenwriters, directors, ... with much more than just to do with creativity!

I have expressed myself unclear. Smaller independent productions pay many (not organized) employees does little, these films are of the strike not affected, just as amateur films of course. A season without Hollywood? Could be quite refreshing.
