Wei kann ich eine doppelte Komprimierung vermeiden?

Wei, I can avoid a double Compression?

Frage von Jotte72:
Dezember 2007

Hello everybody,

I have had my camcorder from Rohfilm already in MPEG2 format on the PC. In the tutorials I have read that this is better than AVI file, in order not to have loss of quality.

Now the film is cut and ready to be produced. Here I have now the choice between several formats. Now my real question: If I cut the material, which is already in MPEG2 format, as MPEG2 files (DVD-compliant) output is then compressed the film again and again reduces the quality? Or will the film quality 1:1 draw. And if the former is true, how can I possibly avoid further compression.

Thank you very much!

What do you mean produce? Wilt thou not burn DVD? Then you do nothing else but to spend it as MPEG2. This will, in any case everything except hard cuts new compressed. So transitions, titles, and possibly color or brightness adjustments, Effects etc.. Whether synonymous unmodified new clips be compressed depends on the program with which you cut and of the exact settings for the output from (the bit rate is maintained or not?).
Why do you have the film as mpeg imported? When he comes of a mini-DV camcorder, or was he already recorded as MPEG?

The better authoring programs usually ask you whether an already formatkonformes video before burning the DVD again to be MPEG2 encoded.

PS
probably did not read closely enough. Jotte2 has quite naturally, what the output of the cut material in A, then to 'author of' video-file are concerned.

Phew! 'Jotte2' - I meant of course Meggen.

With producing, I mean the creation of a file (usually MPEG2). In my software PowerDirector 3, the stop point "Produce". The whole process, I then next in DVD-Lab.

Yes the film was of a mini-DV camcorder. To Why ... typical beginner mistakes! I knew just what DVD has to do with MPEG2. So I have chosen the variant. S.Ende result was a miserable quality. OK've come to understand that if I am the future, the whole thing as an AVI file input, the raw data without loss calculator on my land. Unfortunately, the clip I am now as MPEG2 on the calculator was in the original no longer exists.

Since my program is not asked, I have times like this, that again will re-encoded.

Does it make sense then the sliders for maximum quality, to the best possible result?

And next question, which DVD-authoring software with the Lab then the DVD is created, encoded / compressed (but the same is not it?) Synonymous again?

To Power Director 3 and DVD_Lab I can not say.
Attempts at export as MPEG2, the import of settings to maintain, so the bitrate is neither up nor down to. Possibly. there is a checkmark "New Compact" or the like. Your goal should be to prevent Neukomprimierung. In DVD_Lab analogy.
