Frage von ElMorizo:Dear stupid question, than never ...
I have an HD camera in the brand Canon XL HD1
and would like to venture my first HD-steps.
What are the tapes I use it? MiniDV or DV Cam?
Or else something else?
Where are the differences?
Thanks for the help!

Hello,
There are specific for HDV camcorder HDV tapes. The true cost a multiple of the normal MiniDV cassettes (and controversial here in the forum) for HDV filmmakers, but that the drop-out rate in half is lower. Also, the sliding layer on the tape is probably optimized accordingly.
Drop-outs are the HDV filmmaker worst enemy, as a disturbed I-frame leads under the inter-frame compression to half a second picture-and loss of sound! And something can not simply gloss over.
If you care, I can you the article "NO PICTURE, NO SOUND - Drop-out risk for HDV" in the current issue of the journal

I can agree fully with the Mark
I can tell you the SONY PHDVM recommend a 63-net through subscription costs 17, - EUR, but you are so secure in the "safest" in terms of podium cassettes, and did so at least this part time. Just when you with film of the expensive Canon, you should dare to make this small investment. On the Internet gibts synonymous somewhere a flyer of Sony, in this cassette that is dargstellt very good (Comparison DV -> HDV) tapes.
Actually I only turn on these tapes and had no drop-out, had earlier only with new DVM63EX3 filmed, but every now and then I had one misfire inside extrapolated (on 60 minutes ...) although the tape was new and unplayed. ..
You ought to be sure, to point-to-play on the tapes only once (camcorder recording).

People do not make yourself crazy! How much did you have dropouts in DV? Exactly, and the data rate for HDV is not higher .....
Antwort von prem:
No, that is ok, if it works you can save a lot of money!
But in HDV has to follow the generally worse than DV ...

I would rather go there to secure. Just when one was filming what is unique or for film projects, which depend very much drann .... Since I do not want to save s.falschen end ....
There is no 100% security, but even the most defects are ironed out, and more regular cleaning of your camcorder, do not rewind the tapes in the action. it still bears its part ...[/ list]

Antwort von NiklasF:
Above all, always remain at a belt places!
It may otherwise be interactions between the various tape damage.
They can clump together and add the head.
Episode: Drop Out
Therefore, HDV cameras, always hire an incalculable risk.
For private purposes ists ja no preference.
But professionals should be aware.

I fully agree! Always stay with a band places!

I borrowed a cheap miniDV chewed Rückspulgerät So what is it yes indeed!
At first I thought s.einen joke.
Have now googled times thereafter.
However, I think about 50 euros for such a simple construction as the "HAMA" still a lot when you consider how much more electronics is in half as expensive Walkman.

I have had part of maxell and new, cheap of a friend at the time for (I'm not quite sure) 20, - EUR purchased.
I can recommend the part of anybody who wants to spare the expensive Kassettnschub the camera / recorder ...
Is that part always cheaper to throw away than repair by the recorder, etc.
PS There is a DVD-synonymous Rückspulgerät ;-)
