what is the next-higher level MiniDV quality? Is it then already beta? Is there perhaps somewhere even with an overview of the various formats and their suitability zb. for TV?

Betacam, BetacamSP, DigiBeta, BetacamSX, DVCPro25, DVCPro50, DVCProHD, IMX, DVCAM, XDCAM, HDCAM (nachfolger v. DigiBeta).
Or from the good old days: D1, M II, U-Matic, Prof.S-VHS, D9 (Digital S-VHS), Hi8 ... I've forgotten what?
Concerning the issue of broadcasting capability is concerned, since each transmitter has its own ideas and specifications. The question of the "ultimate" video format is no longer so easy to answer. Rather, it depends on what you really want to do and how the possibilities of their own look, or post those where the material is received.
