Hi,
I have already several threads for a while and I read with a variety of articles about DV editing employed. I would be interested to know what software you use to cut you. Or is there somewhere on the page a sort of poll?

Since 1994, Adobe Premiere, then still at a 400 MHz analog calculator and source material. Today Pro 2.0 on a 3.2 GHz dual-core and HDV source material.

What is the "7th year confoundedly" synonymous far behind me ;-)

I in 1997 started with Premiere 4.2 (then cut card with analog inputs and on a calculator with 120 MHz) and then about 2001 the upgrade to Premiere 6.0 in order to synonymous DV natively edit pages.
As long as I just cut DV, while I will remain. Another upgrade it will only play if I have HD format must be cut.

Since 1999, Adobe Premiere. Then 5.1c today 6.5. Also since then VirtualDub for capture and filtering.

I am not Powermac, but I think Final Cut Pro on a G5 for a pretty good choice, as can be seen for approximately 8,000 EUR to build a good system which works in uncompressed quality. However, the Xserve Raid quite expensive, so it then under the dash yet again to be 16.000 EUR. Because internal are only two disks available for a third panel is just a trick with the place. Can become synonymous but have changed. Who is not dependent on Avid, it is with Final Cut Pro certainly well served.

Your details are relatively outdated. By default, four plates fit into the Mac Pro. The G5 was a long time ago. You can in the (now no longer new) Mac Pro easily up to eight or synonymous ten (!) Internal hard disks installed: http://www.finalcutprofi.de/phpboard/viewtopic.php?t=42016&highlight=mac

This is uncompressed HD synonymous possible. For slightly larger claims XServe Raid makes sense of course. Four times ten 3 GHz and S-ATA disks do quite nicely steam. For well below 8,000 euros.

Then you have no component and SDI inputs and outputs, but can only DV - HDV or edit material. That sounds quite good. Let's see, when I cut myself a new place and whether it begrudge another Avid solution on Windows or a Mac solution with Final Cut Pro.

For Friends external disks there is another possibility (synonymous s.Mac Pro external):

Two external SATA enclosure for five panels: Stardom ST6600: 380 Euro / Unit (http://www.bestseller-computer.de/?ID=13146)
10 Samsung 500 GB disks into each 125 euros

So power at 5 TB external via S-ATA for under 2000 euros.
Maybe even an extra S-ATA card or better High Point RAID Card: 200-500 euros.

This survey, there were times already but somehow ... or I am mistaken?

So, I use Pinnacle Liquid Edition 6.1 for DV and HDV in short sequences. If the upcoming Avid Liquid 7.2 should be available, I will probably upgrade and addition to a new calculator invest. Until now it was not yet necessary.

Hab was synonymous with DV and Premiere 5.1 Now beginning, everything on P3 / 500th
Since I have a longer use of, Inside Multimedia, built in system
P4/302 with Edius, up 3.24.
It will remain as long as I am working with DV, but this is still a few years so.
Otherwise I do not think too much of it constantly hardware and software to change. Since then synonymous to the reasonable work - the same movies, and is hardly possible only talked about technology.
Even with the best program of the film's content will not be better!
It is a question of the reason for its appropriate application and then choose to work.

PS. There are always players who have the latest camera, the best editing program sch and Nevertheless ... Movies!

I use a 2 GHz iMac with 2 GB of RAM and Final Cut Express. I'm so fully and completely satisfied - the calculator goes perfectly for my claims. Honestly, what makes her, allowing her such high-end systems needs;)
