Frage von MikiNRW:Hello Forum, times have a question:
What firewire should I take to my JVC GR-D239E with a Fujitsu-Siemens Scaleo P PC to connect?
In the documents because I find nothing.
Where is the difference between 4 / 4, 4 / 6 and 6 / 6 (except in the number of poles ;-))?
Thanks in advance
Mirko
Antwort von usul:
4pole - small time without power supply (usually to be found s.Kameras)
6 pole - great times with power supply (usually s.Desktop PCs)
You must simply look at what connections for your camera and the PC and then buy the appropriate cable. Presumably you will be a 4 <-> 6 Cables need.
Antwort von hansreinhard:
this is no preference.
the 4-pin connector transmits the same data, but without power supply (the latter for example, use external DV converter instead of a power supply).

Thank you in advance for the quick replies.
My cam has AV Connections, DV and DC. I have power.
PC has only 1394 dranstehen.

That's pragmatic. Show the connection to s.deiner Camera. Then check the connection s.deinem PC. Then you go in the store and buy the cable with the correct plugs. To what extent should a forum you help? Connections need not technically be understood. It is enough if the cable fits. Great way, the connections are all built so that there is always only one correct option. In a Firewire port is synonymous just the right fit Firewire cable and nothing else.
The way a forum is not meant to give you differences between plugs to explain and to lament. There is the Wikipedia. This is very patiently: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FireWire

if I am someone personally to ask his opinion (...) We are not talking about opinions. It is about how a camcorder with a PC connection. How it works, explains the power of facticity. There is no opinion, but only one correct answer. Point.
Antwort von mdb:
My question was based on the number of poles, the times will probably always fit .... The number of poles depends on the times from the 4-pole times does not fit into the 6pin connector and viceversa
Antwort von Jan:
There is a 9 pin Firewire port (with a second data channel) for some Macs to confuse the discussion ......
Is almost always the same schema, MiniDV cameras have 4-pin except the MiniDV cameras do not have FW JVC (DVX - I forget) 400 zb, 6 pole tower PCs, PC laptops very often 4 pole, Mac laptops often 6 pole.
There are synonymous laptops with 4 and 6 poles. This can vary but agree very often.

If you have such problems with Firewire cables, then look into your Bedienungsnaleitung on Page 36, there is a type name for the original JVC Firewire Cable VC-VDV204U (for the 4auf4-pin cable). Order you and the hope that it is the right one. Or read next to Page 37, there is still little more instructions, namely a second Art.No. VC VDV206U (for the 4auf6-pin cable. For then you will have noticed that your camera only a 4-pin port. Now you compare the PC to connect s.deinem. Sieht the like from, then take the 4auf4 pole. Sieht of different, bigger, then take the 4auf6 pole.
What is so difficult? Why do we need as a forum for? What there manuals?
The differences between the two types of cable are you already in the very first answer has been given.
