I have the entry-level camera of SonyDC buy-HC23. Now I read as a disadvantage that has no shutter. Throughout the web I'm not really pushed to the functional, or disadvantage of a missing shutters.
What we then need a shutter? Can I do it for my vacation and neglect family movies?

Hello,
the setting of the shutter speed (exposure time) with camcorders in this country amounts to 1 / 50 s. This time can be changed manual, if it allows the camcorder.
This is done only in exceptional cases, eg if you need still images without motion blur on moving subjects. With "holiday and family movies" usually does not need this setting.
