Hello,
Our Digicam Sanyo Xacti C4 creates video files in mpeg4 format. To edit this with Ulead Video Studio and Magix video, according to the manufacturer's information is a necessary codec installed. Now my question: Can anyone tell me what codec do I need and where do I get it or have someone else do unto you of a brilliant tip for DV editing and editing of mpeg4 files?

Quicktime of Apple brings an MPEG4 codec with. The study program is free and is suitable for testing "Is it at all?".
If you like, you can buy for about $ 30 at Apple and a serial number to upgrade the program to the (simple) editing program Quicktime Pro.

Edit Mp4 in Ulead and convert it into mpeg2 is very slow, it takes a few hours.
I do it this way:
1. Nero version to open, click Create Film, and open the MP4 file.
2. The MP4 file drag into the timeline, if you can not directly useful here cut scene.
3. Finally, export the movie. In my opinion, not by DVD Pal NTSC DVD maintain it, then the film is not jerky, which my experience. And not important to the sound set to Automatic but LPCM.
