FCE converts when transferring all HD format in exactly the same codec, no preference whether AVCHD, H.264 (QT) or HDV in Final Cut Pro a few would be possible natively, but this is not a criterion. If you want to know if an of you envisaged at camcorder may not be well-compatible, with googel "Canysonic X1000 Final Cut Express." No matches: Probably no problems. Using the Panasonic HDC-SD707 "would you get a few hits and as it noted that the" 1080p50 is not supported. So I would do it.

I want to shoot with a digital compact camera. Choice for the following models:

SonyDSC-HX5
(AVCHD 1920 x 1080 (50i interlace)
(MP4/AVI 1440 × 1080, 25 fps, progressive)

or

Canon Digital Ixus 1000 HS
MOV H.264
1920 x 1080 pixels (24 frames per second)

Just wanted to know which camera model would be synonymous to the image quality, the better.
This card includes the Canon FC in the source material synonymous when it is added to QuickTime, convert before the cut?

Greetings

Good question. Both of these are not a camcorder, and so can be found on the net quite a bit. The movie mode is nothing that defines these cameras - a bit unlike VDSLRs.

Irritating way is found in the Sony Repeated link to a converter that the AVCHD Quicktime converts to (which FCE but actually even be able to do AVCHD with) should also, in DV info, to note that Perian components collection need to, because the AC3 sound is ...

This is crass. In the data sheet there is nothing about it. If it is true forget the Sony.

And Canon: Because the thing of the Canon is a mov, you can play it. H.264 but can not do better than AVCHD natively, since, apart from the QT container, more or less the same. It is by no means sure of it from FCE to convert, I'm guessing no. There would of course be no problem at all, the clips with QT Pro, MPEG Streamclip or Toast to convert to AIC (or ProRes if you think Final Cut Pro), but "no problem" is not comfortable.

My advice: Go with a laptop or USB netbook in the media market. Ask that you make up a short movies can be. Transfer to the laptop the entire folder (very important), both of the Sony (in AVCHD mode filmed here), as synonymous of the Canon.

On your Mac you should use in FCE / Final Cut Pro with Apple + Shift +8 and the gear icon specified after the "own path" to the respective camera folder, immediately see your clips as thumbnails. With the camera which is not that lost. If it goes with both, you can easily compare the quality, if you have taken the same ...

I work with Final Cut Pro and have no problems with my SonyNex VG10 which receives. Mts files! have had to just log and transmit and already WORKS auto. In FCE I do not know if AVCHD can be read! I'd download Perian and I definitely before install!

To your question:

It is converted in Final Cut Pro (E) in all. Mov files, which in turn is a Quicktime format!

Yes, FCE can read AVCHD, could therefore synonymous with the Nex deal, but here it was a different camera. The transfer process is the same in FCE and Final Cut Pro. Difference: In FCE you have only the Apple Intermediate Codec for all HD format in Final Cut Pro you have the choice additional 5 ProRes strengths.

Already clear. But as H.264 mov files of the Ixus synonymous? Have synonymous nor olle Ixus (60). Avis makes with Motion Jpeg, and of course you can directly import the. Better quality of mobile phone film, or as it reviews the Slashcam editors often say in: Surprisingly good.

So it is either way possible that it works with two cameras, but by no means certain.
