yes, that is called "resizing". it shrinks the image in the program to cut inside the anzeigesicheren area.

I had already considered synonymous to me, but then the picture's too small on the computer screen. I thought that there may be a setting that automatically adjusts to the movie file or something of the sort

Is there a feature not available when playing a movie to be trimmed the edges? Yes, there is. Take a professional video monitor and activate the underscan mode. When editing DV you have to still s.den safe and title display-oriented areas, otherwise the output is not true after s.Television.
