I have a project with the default settings for HD 1080i and 29.97fps.
If I now have a tape, one will see the first clip after italics and still stands as 29.97fps. After some time the font is no longer italicized and the clip to 25fps in.
Why does this premiere?

Premiere always shows the true framerate of the clip. If you have a clip and reads the material is 25 fps, then it has just 25 fps. The project setting changes nothing. If you have material with 25 fps in a 29.97 fps timeline importierst, premiere auto converts the frame rate to (but very choppy).
