Frage von Auf Achse:Hello!
With great pleasure I note that for some time in the Consumercams finally a really useful Wide Angle keeps feeding! In recent years there is not no preference in which Manufacturer WW managed without intent, which is really only a stopgap measure and superlästig. That idiotic gabs 200x zoom.
What interests me ... WHY has been blocked for as long a modest WW? If the only cost reasons (to calculate a WW is not the problem, but the optics is considerably more expensive) or is synonymous with to do that against the earlier smaller chip? Or with the higher Resolutionwg. HD? Or just fad?
Thanks and regards,

You actually already answered the question himself: The smaller chip size produces a smaller angle with the same optics. In addition, a customized Optics expensive and thus would be more expensive. The reason for this is stronger in the diffraction of light rays, thus distortions in the Wide Angle turn out stronger and the other in the need for better HD image performance. These larger and higher quality lenses would be necessary so that the small size of the cameras would also suffer. The compromise is not to be a Wide Anglezu. So slowly but seems the series of high quality but cheap optics to be possible ...

On the optics to make still little, or nothing.
Meanwhile, more and more contact the 16:9 chip in the camcorder by the 4:3 and chips are falling. This has an obvious impact on the viewing angle, without the need to be changed Lenses.
