Frage von RemoXL2:I am looking for a suitable windscreen for the microphone, the Canon XL2. Is there something in the offer? Thanks for any help.
Antwort von Gromit:
www.lightwavesystems.com
I use the windshield and the complete isolation of the viewfinder on an XL-1.
Works perfectly.
The shipment to Austria was quite easy and fast.
Have fun

It is slightly cheaper here:

Or the low-budget solution here:

Antwort von RemoXL2:
Wow, thanks for the help. I probably will opt for one of the two models, which are among the links of beitis find entry. But which of the two Haardingern makes sense? Has anyone experience with regard to the different length of hair?
Antwort von Markus:
The longer the hair, the better the protection. The coat s.meinem directional microphone has 4 cm.

How significant is the difference between 20 mm and 40 mm? While it is fine and good if the disturbing wind noise can be contained if the rest of the sound will suffer as synonymous, however, things look quite different ... Or is the difference between 20 mm and 40 mm only for the wind noise audible sound and the rest stays roughly the same in both versions? Hui, which was now complicated formulated. I very much hope you understand what I mean:-D

In addition to note:
The insulator

moves the viewfinder / microphone unit, at about 5 cm forward, resulting in a much better shoulder pad of the camera. The cables, at least for the XL-1 long enough.

Have become not quite clever, for what that should be just good insulator. Can you tell me there a little helping hand, Gromit?
Probably Helps reduce vibration and ensures a better balance, right?
In my opinion, there would be probably the part with the name 'MM-XL Universal Mini Mount "meaningful, especially since it will reduce its own camera noise (noise of a shifting lens) as an example.
Antwort von Markus:
How significant is the difference between 20 mm and 40 mm? The useful signal is not significantly affected by the longer coat. The interfering signal does. ;-)
Antwort von RemoXL2:
Thank you, Mark. These two concepts (useful and interfering signal), I must remember that, I really think the term accurately.

In my opinion, there would be probably the part with the name 'MM-XL Universal Mini Mount "meaningful, especially since it will reduce its own camera noise (noise of a shifting lens) as an example. I use all 3 parts together. (EQ-XL Equalizer Windscreen, MM-XL Universal Mini Mount; SI-XL System Isolator.) Rubber Mount and Mini Storage in dams in the insulator have a different elasticity and so different interference frequencies. Windscreen is not a simple, allows on the Micro Spun fur, but a plastic basket is placed over the fur and the ca 5mm gap all around the micro.
The insulator moves the camera so that one really notices and it is now much more comfortable for me on the shoulder or tripod plate () a little hard. The unfortunate shoulder breast support I have removed. Whether for the XL-2 is relevant, I can not judge.
Incidentally, I am not an employee of lightwavesystems, but I have tried almost all the offered equipment and they were clearly inferior to all of the lightwave solution.

I still have something better informed on the homepage of Rovotech.com. In addition to the nearly 60 euro is the windscreen a fee of 7.50 Euros when you pay with credit cards and - here comes the hammer - the dispatch of Germany to Switzerland cost me 30 euros incredible! That's ridiculous ... Would I live in the south of Italy, this would amount to little more than half. But since it still needs to be an alternative, do not you think?
