Not for me anyway I'll put a Firewire port, is not supposed to be hard to install. But I've seen many cables go of the 4-pin to 6-pin and vice versa, etc. Now I want to know whether it is synonymous with the opportunity of DV to USB to go.

By AV you can on some USB Grabberboxen in the calculator go, but is not generally recommended. Instead of shoveling already digitally available material on the calculator, you are converting it from the DV tape that is (; digital) to the AV output (; analog) into the USB input Grabber (; analog) and then transferred to the PC the USB interface (; again conversion to digital). That means quality loss and this Gewurschtel I would for 10-15 ¬ (; say, the purchase of a firewire card) save.

Neee, the 6 - and 4-pin FireWire ports are different only in that in the 6-pole, two lines for a possible power supply is available. Calculator / FireWire cards have therefore mostly 6-pin, because so synonymous FireWire devices may be connected, which draw their energy from the computer interface, while the camcorder usually have the smaller 4-pin connector. You will be in transferring the DV video to your computer as normal from its own battery or AC adapter / charger supplied with electricity.
