I hope I am mistaken, but it could be that you s.der Canon XL-H1 is not the Japanese (in mono) on channel 1 and the mixer via XLR to Channel 2 put it?

If you channel 1 is on front and your Japanese? then followed, and the next on the Micro rear XLR input 2 (right) off you, everything is normal ok!

No, unfortunately this is not possible. Because once again overpaid engineer not properly considered. I always make an external Micro beside the camera on tripod. In just a shoulder operation ME66 or similar in the micro-holder of the Series microphones and plug into the rear XLRs connect.
I could not believe it is synonymous. Fortunately I have this camera with orders of this kind are rarely voted in favor and make my DSR-500, where something is self-evident.
