Hello
have a jvc gr-d23e mini dv camera
following question: up to now I have the data of the camera via firewire with the software read out, processed and burned.
But now my broken dv output and have just the opportunity my recorded movies s.oder via s-vidio on my hard disk recorder and then to burn the dvd with the program read out section.
what do I have with this procedure for losses

Thank you 1. Loss: Conversion Analog -> Digital (MPEG format)
2. Loss: MPEG Conversion -> DV (to simplify post)
3. Loss: Conversion DV -> MPEG (DVD creation)
Since all the above used both lossy format are created s.Ende an ever thinner soup, less and less in the original chicken broth in it.
Your losses could be diminished if you are in step 2 are lossless codec, such as Huffyuv, begins.
Makes sense, if already admitted analogy plays or should be, but is really only the direct conversion to DV.

Then would be synonymous to purchase a small DV camera only for reading the tapes to be superior.
The DVD recorder, he has obviously and thus is entitled to his question. But I hate synonymous nothing of the ongoing out-and herwandlungen.

Regardless of the predicted losses, you can do quite well with the S-video cable or recorder s.TV testing.
