I have a rather specific question:
I am sorry to say that I) in Adobe Premiere (CS4, the material of my SonyPMW-EX1 with 35MBits / s can not smoothly cut. The source video playback in VLC player works fine. Only in Premiere videos do not run smoothly, which makes a sensible cut impossible. At lower bit rates, eg, 25Mbit / s there are no problems.
Why might that be? The editing program I would not like to go, because I had to buy expensive licenses, and have now worked pretty well in it.
S.Processor Could it be? I have an Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad with 2400Mhz. Is the Mhz number ever so crucial to the DV editing, or are there other aspects of the purchase of the processor are more important?
Is there perhaps someone who cuts EX1 material on his computer with Adobe Premiere and tell me its hardware compilation can?

Hello Martin. I have the same Processor and one EX3. With me it usually works quite well under Vista64 and Premiere. I have provided my system with 8 GB of RAM.
What is critical on Vista, the hard disks indexing. It devours huge resources. The maybe you should turn off. However, it sabotages the Windows search function.
In professional Mac NLE editing systems is usually also disables the search index (Spotlight).
Ongoing experiments s.besten parallel applications (Internet, avoid, etc.) and hidden processes.

I am afraid that all this has to do in your case with the CPU anything. My buddy has a similarly configured system CS4. It must be associated with the handling of files with Premiere, because my iMac with laughable FC EX has no problems with material. Mpeg2 with 35 Mbit / s and close "parallel applications"? This can not be your seriousness. Try times may Vegas.
