Frage von grovel:Hello,
So I should be cut with my latest project with as mobile as possible, I want to work (in Vegas) with precompressed video, which I afterwards if I have the external hard drive again appendages with the original data exchanges. This is fairly easy, and has already been tried.
Now I am looking for the codec with which to reach the maximum compression (at a downscaling to 384x216), with which is workable but still comfortable and precise.
All Xvid, MP4 dialects fall out of consideration because they can scarcely be accurate editing, I think ideal would actually be a case where there is no inter-frame compression.
I s.Huffyuv thought, but the files are not too extreme even for the size much smaller than DV - and in principle, the codec may indeed be lossy. (Perhaps not too much).
What do you recommend me, I will try different things out and give feedback.

Of Morgan MJPEG or PICVideo. Fast. Quality settings. However, small fee. But, carefully considered, so do not bother you a watermark ;-)
Good luck

Thanks Stefan,
Rumprobiert've become a little bit and I finally decided that the whole chase through the Procoder to create tiny and MPGs too. Vegas has no problems with the frame-accurate editing (hach as we have a few years ago declared to be impossible) and the files are pretty small.
Be sure when I am still cursing s.Arbeiten but eventually one learns from mistakes ...
Are here in two months, a review of this method ...
