... And that was tilting too dark, depending on ... Consequently, your problem lies closer to the correct exposure (aperture setting), because even if the White Balance totally goes wrong, so does the brightness is not the image. That would only lead to a color cast.

As with white balance, new Cam and especially SD cards has everything to do precious little ;-)
