Hello,
may have been the canon xl1 via firewire with no problems on magix / ulead feed. duaert it since yesterday, about 3 minutes until the hardwarerkennung the cam erkennt.oder not synonymous.
been tested:
cable okay synonymous exchanged.
firewire card synonymous okay.
the problem is with different machines (I tested 3 computers).
soon became the vcr mode set-opened the windowpop to einzuspielen dv material by selection (wmediamaker, ulead etc.)
someone knows this fehlermeldeung:
device was not. no signal. no connection to the device could be manufactured.

but something you have to have changed .. to hire or something s.der hardwarekonf. d. computer altered, or added another PCI card, or perhaps have several Firewire devices connected gliechzeitig?

No, I have not definitely divided, computer runs in the config with no problems for 3 weeks.
Another experiment s.einem other pc which unfortunately gave the same error message. The pc recognized the cam to c. 4 minutes.
someone has a link or a contact address for repairs or experiences with this cam?

I returned my Canon XL1S just against d. refund purchase price, because it was found in any replacement a surprise to ;-).. So if you have it at some time on other machines, will probably be the camera - just to call Canon support and describe problem. The synonymous gladly give you addresses for authorized Wertkstätten .. good luck!
