I have the Canon 600i and Windows XP Service Pack 2 Actually, everything has been synonymous times works perfect.
Recently, however, the camera of the computer side is no longer recognized. With the camcorder, but still seems to DV IN on the display.
In another computer the same problem occurs as with a trial test with Windows 2000.
The Firewire card and cable I would be excluded because of failure than with any other camcorder did not cause any problems.
However, repairs are synonymous very expensive, so you could buy for the price it might have a new one.
Jemmand you know of any solution yet?
Or is it bad s.den Firewire Ports of Canon, the company has time to maybe start a recall?

The connections with the DV) is indeed a big issue (see above link synonymous> 10 DV port broken s.Camcorders. From a product recall, I know nothing. Too bad that is suffering in favor of more parsimonious Prices and product quality more and more. ;-(

I've had the Panasonic NV-GS3. The FireWire port is dead. S.der The funny thing I've found another 7 users had the same problem.

Then I sold the camera and got a new one.
