external power supply for 500d (; no battery grip)

Hello together,
I have the following problem ... I use the Captain Stubling DSLR rig of RedrockMicro and the 500d Unfortunately I can not use the battery grip with it because otherwise the structure is too high. Is there a way to the camera (otherwise supplied with electricity, perhaps via USB)? Perhaps an external battery pack?

Batteries and more you could buy in to exchange at the first sign of weakness in the shooting break the Battery.
With the thumbscrew goes relatively quickly. I use the Redrock Micro microshoulderMount and unfortunately need a socket wrench. This is complicated, but the portrait grip is heavy, bulky and synonymous kind of ugly.
