It depends on it s.was you want to do and what you is very important.
The XL 1s is indeed LowLight already good at (better than the new XL2), but for me, still worse than the professional version of the VX 2000th
During use of lenses is then ne XL1s. XLR connectors have it both a prerequisite for a decent sound.
But there are still many differences which may be crucial.

I think you can not basically say Sonyoder Canon or Panasonic, or what I know is better ...
That rather depends of camera models from each vsdeinen and specific requirements.
