Hello,
I would ask as a. I use the cassette maxell mini dv in hdv camcorders dvm60se synonymous? they would fit just so I could then record instead of the standard 720i sd synonymous with the cassette or the cassette only supports 720x576 sd?

Yes! Each DV tape can be synonymous HDV. The data rate for DV and HDV is the same.
HDV is more sensitive to drop-outs:
Drop Out with HDV: 12 frames = about 0.5 seconds break
Drop Out of DV: 1 = Broken Frame 0.04 seconds
Therefore be sold for higher quality like HDV tapes.

Ifs are the Maxell HDV / DV tapes, then they are sufficient.
The Ultra-High-Super-Duper-Expensive-tapes (such s.18 ¬ / pc) is total nonsense, and only for paranoid;)
