You can, of course, the sound from a mpeg export as wav, mpg here are the specifications but no preference.

That is still good. Audiophile, it might shudder. Otto Normalhörer use the default, but on his MP3 player.
For the DVD your DVD authoring program calculates probably to 48 kHz and you need to in the editing program / MPEG encoder to adjust
