Hello,
here have just a few Programs (VisionGS, Private Webcam G4) to try offering a live stream (of Webacam) on a website. From the speed is ok, but the Programs all have a latency of about 10-14 seconds to real time. I can try out various streaming formats (mpg4, wmv7-9) synonymous with low-resolution (right down to 160x120). Is always the same. On the Internet kanns are not synonymous, as tested locally, Calculator is synonymous performant. Perhaps I have not yet found the right program or you have to take one for it Money in the hand? Maybe it's synonymous a "problem" of the client page. If the client wants to have a good portion erstmal video before he starts to play ... When Quicktime Player (plugin) can be the size of the portion - I Gaub - specify.

It is a fundamental property of high compression codecs (WMV, MPEG4), smear the image information on a large number of image frames. 10 seconds, and there are more fast together. In plain language: It can take several seconds, until the complete information of each image is transmitted. Of course, on the receiving end of that duration buffered.
I would try a less-free compressed codec, particularly one based on single images (eg motion JPEG). Is there the effect is the same?

Well, I have the key frame interval to 1 second. Have now found ne solution: The Unreal Media Server (www.umediaserver.net). Is it free for 15 connections and works with about 1-2 seconds latency is synonymous with something else to offer (user management, etc.). The only catch is that I now probably have to look nen dedicated Windows server, but the cost today is no longer synonymous indeed the world.
