I occasionally miss the slow motion function camcorders - it probably has a reason why that does not exist (okay, with expensive special solutions may be poorly implemented or VHS below for some other models).
But what is the reason? The possible need to change the belt speed can not be to dominate the VCR has video -2000. The processor speed? The has been in the PC area within 20 years of verhundertfacht. Performance of the firmware? Storage capacity? Or how, or what? ;-)

One possibility may be that Camera let's say the 100 f / s in a buffer and then stored sequentially with 25 f / s on the tape plays. Then the slow motion function for a certain short period of time possible, your camcorder, but in our example for the 4-fold slow time can not be used. The other trick of JVC was the image size runterzusetzen eg 1/4-tel. It was continued with the normal frame rate on the tape, but always stop recording four images per band image. It was then a slow motion of 25%. The viewing of such Mixbilder did a special play mode in the camera or playback software.

Many users want this feature just to play and that it would turn they not worth it. Ergo, it is not built, because there is the potential target group would not pay.
