you have the video file with alpha channel created yourself? if one with the after effects like you have to make the export rgb + alpha extra set. then the final cut in auto detected. with pinnacle studio kenn ich mich leider nich from.

achso. yes there is on the side, that not every program the alpha channel of the sequences understands. would simply look at the pinnacle help look what's under the keyword alpha to find, or hope that a next pinnacle experte are reported. good luck.
