In Europe, the V-Mount System (formerly of Sony) s.weitesten widespread. Batteries with approximately 100Wh there s.ca. 109 ¬ net (eg here http://www.sepp-video.de/v-mount.htm). For a EX3 should persevere in their typical 11W power about 7-8h.
One disadvantage of the use of "rechargers" in the EX3, of course: The well-known and popular of the smaller cameras Battery remain time display is the lack of direct communication with the battery electronics on the track. The EX3 of the external input must therefore be supplied with electricity. You can adjust in the menu, however, two threshold values, s.dem the Battery is treated as "close to empty" or "empty". Unfortunately, the EX3 is not typical for professional cameras 4-pin XLR Male to power, but uses its own type, which complicates the use of generic V-mount adapters.
Price of manufactures would be interesting to this product: http://www.mitcorp.com/public/view_item_cat.php?catalogue_number=hawk-woods_vl-ex3&product_name=Hawk-Woods-VL-EX3-% 28VL-EX3 - VLEX3% 29 -- V-mount battery-adapter-for-the-Sony PMW-EX3 XDCAM EX camcorder -
This one still needs a V-Mount Charger, but that should not be a problem.
Conclusion: We have a bunch of BP-U60 Batteries bought for 125 ¬ (net), because the EX3 with their low power consumption so loosely synonymous 4h and hold out as many of 2-3 Batteries usually for a day of shooting. This will keep the camera still relatively easy to handle (about 4.2 kilograms) and you have a fat battery back on it, which you can really only wear with extra shoulder support yet.

v-mount and mount off, although mechanically different, but technically equivalent. Select adapter plates for the ex3, there are a number of providers, so you can according to your needs (additional mounting for radio receiver, etc. ..).
the already existing sachtler LED8 you'd have to retrofit with only a t-tap plug, the matching t-tap jack seems to be found on all disks and adapters on synonymous to many batteries.

exactly what I want, with great battery and more shoulder support shoulder in the direction of a digital camera - now working with the canon xl2 and even the design of which is similar. I am in operations conducted by eb too top-heavy.
The shoulder support building from existing I-way support rod itself there is probably accurate and harddisk drive on it - on the 2nd The audio shoe accessories spark gap ....

Yes: This jack is located either on the battery adapter plate, which normally s.der rear camera is firmly screwed on (AB / V-Mount) and leads in the simplest case, 12-15V with a maximum of 1.5 A and is switchable coupled s.The rec-line, synonymous to the tally light served. This is useful if you want a head light switch on only when running Studio. Batteries Some have directly installed a D-Tap connector - which then of course, always provide electricity, regardless of the recording. Since the EX3 not support this feature, any external battery solutions continuous current to the D-Tap connector set.
