The Chinese manufacturer Venus Optics - known for its rather unusual lenses - will present 12 Laowa lenses at Photokina (8 new and 4 previously announced) - including three new MFT and several CINE PL Mount lenses. Among them are a parfocal cine zoom with 25-100mm T/2.9m, the extreme wide angle Laowa 7.5mm T/2.1 Cine and the two "zero distortion" wide angle lenses Laowa 9mm T/2.9Cine and Laowa 12mm T/2.9 Zero-D Cine - all for PL mount.
Venus Optics will rent for free some of the Laowa 10-18mm f/4,5-5,6 FE Zoom and Laowa 24mm f/14 (Canon) at Photokina. The lens has a wide zoom range of 25-100 mm and was specially designed for digital cinematography. It is true parfocal, i.e. the focus does not shift when zooming in or out. It is designed in such a way that there is virtually no focus breathing over the entire zoom range. The aperture remains fixed at t/2.9 for all focal lengths. The lens with 270° rotation is equipped with a stepless, t-stop independent aperture ring with a 0.8 mod /32 pitch gear. The aperture is click-free and allows smooth f-stops.
