The new features in Sharpen AI 4.0.2.- Native Apple M1 silicon support - Experience a performance improvement of at least 20-30% over previous versions that required Rosetta emulation and Intel architecture. - New default AI model - A one-click model that provides the best sharpening performance out of our three individual models: Motion Blur, Blur, and Too Soft. - Redesigned user interface, improved usability, and many bug fixes - Easier visuals when using the app, increased stability when using Sharpen AI as an external editor, improved support for Wacom tablet users, and many other helpful bug fixes. Sharpen AI: sharpening via super-resolution.Sharpen AI makes possible a subsequent sharpening of photos by DeepLearning, i.e. it is not interpolated as with traditional methods data, but (deep) neural networks are trained on the basis of millions of pictures, in order to recognize then also in unknown pictures unsharp structures and to supplement these by their existing knowledge meaningfully by more picture information and to sharpen so. Strictly speaking, however, this is not a matter of recovering lost information true to reality, but of "guessing" based on experience, similar to what human perception often does (which can be observed well in some optical illusions). This is the most difficult use case and does not work for 100% of all photos. - The "Softness" model is best for adding an extra "pep" to already good images. It can be used in place of traditional sharpening for finely detailed features like eyes, feathers, leaves, and stars.
