AJA has introduced ColorBox, a compact converter for color management workflows designed specifically for the conversion needs of broadcast, live event and on-set applications. It supports Standard Dynamic Range (SDR), High Dynamic Range (HDR) and Wide Color Gamut (WCG) signals, and uses a 12G SDI input/output and HDMI 2.0 output for single wire 4K/UltraHD HDR up to 4:2:2 10-bit 60p or 4:4:4 12-bit 30p. ColorBox allows DITs and colorists to easily load, modify and save looks, and create reference images for dailies, in addition to a range of HDR and SDR conversions. ;) AJA ColorBox
In addition to the 33-point 3D LUT processor with tetrahedral interpolation around, the AJA Color Pipeline provides 4x 1D LUTs and 2x 3x3 matrices, each of which is individually configurable, including as proc amps or RGB color correctors. Color processing options can be controlled via wired Ethernet using a web user interface. ColorBox includes the processing pipeline modes of Colorfront and NBCU LUTs, as well as a dedicated AJA Color Pipeline. ColorBox&s capabilities can be extended via licensable upgrade options to include additional color management workflows, including BBC HLG LUTs and the ORION-CONVERT engine. ;) AJA ColorBox UI ColorBox also features an extensive test pattern generator and image storage, as well as the ability to capture images up to 4K in size as 16-bit Tiff files for the highest quality reference images. ColorBox can also overlay useful information, including customizable text fields. These images can be stored locally on ColorBox or on a connected PC running an application such as Livegrade Pro/Studio and Assimilate Live Looks from Pomfort.
