JAs latest version of the desktop audio and video I/O card KONA supports monitoring via 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 interfaces from numerous formats such as 4K/UltraHD, HD HFR, Deep Color and HDR 10 as well as HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) via a single cable.
AJA KONA 5
The KONA 5 Capture and Output card works with applications such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro X and Avid Media Composer and uses AJA's MacOS and Windows drivers and application plug-ins. The card supports simultaneous capturing with pass-through monitoring via 12G-SDI and offers an HDMI 2.0 output for connection to displays for monitoring. It supports video with 10-bit and 12-bit color depth and 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 chroma subsampling. The KONA 5 can be ordered immediately for approximately 3,000 dollar, is delivered starting from autumn.
Desktop software v15 for KONA, Io and T-TAP AJA's latest version of the desktop software v15 includes the new AJA Control Room full-screen playback including audio monitoring of the host system. KONA HDMI users can now use the system audio output and full-screen playback to monitor audio and video from HDMI sources without the need for a separate output device.
Media content can now be viewed in the AJA Control Room with a computer monitor and speakers without AJA hardware connected. This allows users to use the free MacOS, Windows or Linux application as a stand-alone professional software player for high-quality media up to 4K resolution. Other new features include audio input channel settings per port in the AJA Control Panel, which are useful for switching and multi-channel recording workflows, and numerous product enhancements to KONA, Io and T-TAP.
