At the Inter BEE 2018 in Tokyo, AJA demonstrated two 8K HDR workflows based on AJA products and introduced the new KONA 5. The first 8K workflow solution uses the real-time converter and frame synchronizer AJA FS-HDR, which was developed for processing high-resolution content with high dynamic range (HDR) and large color space (WCG). Using the free AJA FS-HDR Control Link software, four synchronized FS-HDRs are capable of performing 8K HDR transformations. ;) 8K HDR Workflow per 4 x AJA Ki Pro Ultra Plus, FS-HDR and Hi5-12G
The real-time workflow display includes the 8K 60p HDR conversion and frame synchronization of 8K video provided by a  Keisoku Giken KRS-8K Plus Player, which is virtually a case that uses four AJA Ki Pro Ultra Plus for the actual task. The 8K HDR content is then sent via 12G-SDI to four AJA Hi5-12G mini converters that convert to HDMI and connect to a Sharp 8K HDR monitor. The second 8K workflow demonstration runs with the new AJA KONA 5, which is capable of recording or outputting 8K resolution via four 12G SDI outputs at up to 60p frame rates. KONA 5 works together with a colorfront transcoder and outputs 8K content from an HP PC workstation via 12G-SDI to four AJA Hi5-12G mini converters, which output their videos on a Sharp display as an 8K image.
