AJA with Desktop Software v14Firmware Updates and more // IBC 2017

AJA will be showcasing a range of new devices such as the FiDO 12G SDI/Optical Fiber Optic Mini Converter and openGear Multimode Fiber Cards, as well as firmware updates for Ki Pro Ultra Plus, Helo and KONA and the Desktop Software v14, which provides KONA, Io and T-TAP with new interesting audio features.

Desktop software v14 for KONA, Io and T-TAP
The new version 14 of the desktop software for AJA&s KONA, Io and T-TAP models brings new features which simplify 4K/UltraHD and HDR workflows as well as new possibilities in the audio area. Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Avid Media Composer users can access audio files located in different locations, such as local files, via MAM or web browser or in the timeline.

This should make it easier to record voiceovers from analog and digital sources directly into the timeline. Adobe CC users can also use Thunderbolt 3 via USB-C for audio and video I/O together with PC and Macs. Other new features include new audio control options to adjust the monitoring mix between the timeline of the editing program, the host system&s audio and the voice-over/punch-in microphone input. The AJA Desktop Software v14 will be available for free download from mid-October.

FiDO 12G SDI/Optical Fiber Optic Mini Converter
AJA presents a new series of FiDO 12G-SDI to fiber optics to 12G-SDI mini converters at the IBC 2017. The new 12G-SDI fiber optic converters support the transmission of 4K/UltraHD/2K/2K/2K/HD/SD video and audio over long distances (up to 10km) over a single fiber optic cable.

AJA&s new FiDO transmitters, receivers, transceivers and 2-channel units - an extension of the FiDO (Fiber Digital Optical) family of SDI/fiber optic converters - meet the relevant SMPTE specifications and are equipped with a compact housing that can be seamlessly integrated into racks, OB vans or studios.

The new series consists of the modelsFiDO-TR-12G transceivers, FiDO-2T-12G dual-channel transmitters, FiDO-2R-12G dual-channel receivers (1,325 dollars each) and FiDO-T-12G single-channel transmitters, FiDO-R-12G single-channel receivers (price around 785 dollars each). The devices will be launched on the market in autumn 2017.

New openGear multimode fiber optic cards from AJA
AJA&s new 3G-SDI Multi-Mode fiber optic extender cards extend the product line of openGear compatible video and audio rack cards for use in openGear frames and AJA&s OG-3 2RU frame. openGear is Ross Video&s open, modular system with open architecture, supported by a variety of device manufacturers. The new cards offer cost-effective and flexible optical transmission and reception options with 3G SDI/fiber optic transmitters, receivers, transceivers and 2-channel devices.

The new devices will be available from October 2017 at the following prices: OG-FIBER-TR-MM Transceiver, OG-FIBER-2T-MM Dual-Channel Transmitter and OG-FIBER-2R-MM Dual-Channel Receiver, each with 890 Dollars, OG-FIBER-T-MM Transmitter and OG-FIBER-R-MM Receiver, each with 690 Dollars.

Ki Pro Ultra Plus Firmware 2.0.
The new

firmware v2.0 for AJA&s Ki Pro Ultra Plus multi-channel HD recorder and 4K/UltraHD/2K/HD recorder and player is coming next month. At the IBC 2017, AJA announced this free update, which enables the latest HDR formats with HLG and HDR10 playback via HDMI 2.0 with info-frame support, and supports ProRes 4444 XQ recording and playback in HD and 2K, along with numerous other feature enhancements.

Helo Firmware 2.0
The firmware v2.0 for

HELO H. 264 Streaming, Recording and Encoding Nox will be available as a free download from the AJA website from mid-October, allowing users to access encrypted files on media from HELO&s web-based user interface. It increases the maximum recording time of. mp4 and. mov files to 360 minutes and contains many other improvements.

KUMO Firmware 4.3
The www.aja.com/products/kumo-6464#support KUMO Firmware v4.3) introduces new Salvo functionality for AJA KUMO routers and the KUMO CP2 Control Panel. Users can simply download the update, create and save a map with multiple sources to specific destinations as salvo, which can then be accessed via the KUMO router&s web interface, RS 422 with native protocol or via eight dedicated buttons in the KUMO CP2 Control Panel.
