For the typically secretive Apple, larger leaks are actually unusual, which is why the extent of the already known information about the upcoming unveiling of the next generation of the MacBook Pro with the new M4 processor is surprising. The new models are expected to be released and even shipped within the next two weeks.
The Russian YouTuber Wylsacom has already posted a credible unboxing video:
Upgraded Hardware: M4, at least 16 GB, WiFi 7, and three Thunderbolt 4 ports
It’s clear that the new M4 SoC, introduced in June with the new iPad Pro, will also be used in the new MacBook Pros. It is significantly faster than the previous generation, featuring 10 cores—2 more CPU cores than the M3—and is said to be overall 20-25% faster than the M3 and up to 50% faster than the M2. On board as usual are also 10 GPU cores. Nothing is yet known about the technical specifications of the higher-performance models with the M4 Pro and M4 Max SoCs.
It is very encouraging that Apple has finally responded to criticism and is equipping the base models of the MacBook Pro with at least 16 GB of unified memory. According to the poster, found on Apple&s own website, the product page shows that the 14" model will be available with either 16 GB or 28 GB of memory and 512 GB or 1 TB SSD. Another improvement concerns the I/O: the base model now has three (instead of two) Thunderbolt 4 ports and also supports the new Wi-Fi 7. Wi-Fi 7 is more than five times faster than Wi-Fi 6E, with speeds of 46 Gbit/s. Additionally, the base model will now be available in "Space Black," a color previously reserved only for the more expensive models.

Overall, the base model of the MacBook Pro has been significantly upgraded, making it a worthwhile upgrade even for owners of older MacBooks who need more power.
