Asus has introduced a new gaming laptop with the new ROG Flow X16, which can be equipped with a Ryzen 9 6900HS CPU as well as up to an Nvidia RTX GeForce 3070 Ti GPU and an extremely bright mini-LED display with 1,100 nits. CPU, GPU and mini LED touch display.Common to all model variants is the base configuration, which includes both an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS CPU with 8 cores and 16 threads (and up to 4.9 GHz boost) and a pantone-validated 16" HDR display in 16:10 format with mini LED technology and a WQXGA resolution of 2,560 x 1,600. The touch display covers 100% of the professional DCI-P3 color space, can display HDR using the VESA DisplayHDR 1000 and Dolby Vision HDR standards (the 512 zones of dimming via mini-LED backlighting are helpful here), and has a variable refresh rate of 165 Hz via FreeSync Premium Pro. This display and its powerful equipment also make the Asus ROG Flow X16 interesting for professional video work. Also on board for all models are 16 or 32 GB DDR5-4800 on two SO-DIMM slots, which can be expanded up to 64 GB. Two slots are available for mass storage, which are equipped with 1 or 2 TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSDs. The difference between the different model variants is besides the size of the M.2 SSD in the choice of the GPU. You can choose between an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 Ti laptop GPU with 8 GB VRAM and a maximum of 1085MHz at 125W via ROG Boost, as well as an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 laptop GPU with 6 GB VRAM (1475MHz) or a 3050 Ti laptop GPU (1745MHz at 125W) with 4GB GDDR6. ;) Asus ROG Flow X16 Interfaces plus eGPU.The Asus ROG Flow X16 offers quite a few interfaces, such as an HDMI 2.0b port, a USB-C port with USB 3.2 Gen2 (10 Gbit/s) including DisplayPort 1.4 and up to 100W PowerDelivery support, two USB-A USB 3.2 Gen2 ports (10 Gbit/s), a microSD card reader, and an infrared webcam for Windows login via facial recognition. ;) Asus ROG XG Mobile Interface A very special interface is the "ROG XG Mobile Interface", a proprietary port that can be used to connect the external mobile eGPU/docking station  Asus ROG XG Mobile, which brings a Radeon RX 6850M XT with up to 165 watts and offers many other interfaces like a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port, HDMI 2.1, a DisplayPort 1.4, four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and a microSD card reader. MUX switchThe MUX switch is of particular interest to gamers, as it allows the dedicated GPU to bypass the CPU and transmit images directly to the internal display screen. This reduces latency and increases the frame rate by an average of 9% in our tests, but it also consumes more power.
