For the IBC 2024, Atomos released free firmware upgrades, announced the availability of its Sun Dragon LED light strip, and introduced a limited-time discount promotion for its Ninja Ultra and Shogun Ultra monitor/recorders. But let&s go step by step:
Atomos Ninja Phone gets 4K DCI ProRes
Furthermore, the Ninja Phone module, which turns the iPhone 15 Pro/Max into an HDMI camera monitor/recorder, is receiving a free update that brings features such as recording in 4Kp 24/25/30 and 4K DCI 24/25/30 in 10-bit Apple ProRes, monitoring and 10-bit H.265 streaming and playback, as well as direct export to frame.io. In addition, the Ninja Phone now supports not only iPhones but also the Apple iPad Pro. An optional expansion mount for the Ninja Phone can be attached to the 11" and 13" iPad models, turning them into P3 reference monitors with 1600 nits.

Atomos also announced the availability of the Sun Dragon LED light strip, which was introduced in April at NAB 2024. It has since been extensively revised and is now available in two versions: diffused and non-diffused. The waterproof, HDR-capable, and wirelessly DMX-controlled 5-color LED system is expected to set new standards in lighting technology according to Atomos. Both versions are available in 5-meter lengths for 999 Euros.

Ninja Ultra and Shogun Ultra special offer
Potential buyers will be pleased: Atomos is offering both the Ninja Ultra and Shogun Ultra monitor/recorders at a specially discounted price until October 31st—so the Ninja Ultra costs only 649 Euros (instead of 799 Euros) and the Shogun Ultra costs only 999 Euros (instead of 1,199 Euros). The special offer has already started, but not all retailers have updated their offers yet.
At IBC, Atomos will also be demonstrating NDI 6, which adds native HDR support and 10-bit color depth for precise and detailed real-time transmissions. Ninja and Shogun support NDI 6 in both sending and receiving modes.
