Apple first unveiled Macs with its new, self-developed M1 chip (November 2020) at www.slashcam.de/news/single/Neue-Apple-Hardware-mit-eigenem-M1-Chip---MacBook--16176.html, marking the slow farewell to Intel. Meanwhile, the 4th generation of Apple Silicon is already available, and Avid has finally released a version of Media Composer that natively supports Apple&s SoC. Previously, Media Composer ran on the new Macs, but only in emulation mode, which didn&t fully utilize the power of Apple&s new chip.

This feature helps to visually see the amplitude of a clip and thus make more precise editing decisions. - Pause background transcription during editing: A new option in the transcript settings allows pausing transcription during editing to improve performance.
