Blackmagic has introduced the Teranex Mini SDI to DisplayPort 8K HDR, a professional monitoring solution for Apple&s new Pro Display XDR6K monitor. The Teranex Mini SDI to DisplayPort 8K HDR allows 8K monitoring of SDI video with monitors connected via the DisplayPort and offers features such as dual on-screen scope overlays, HDR, 33-point 3D LUTs and screen calibration, for which third-party instruments such as SpectraCal C6, X-Rite i1 Display Pro or Klein K10-A can also be used. The two on-screen scopes can be configured as waveform, parade, vectorscope or histogram.

The Teranex Mini SDI to HDMI 8K HDR is equipped with its own colour screen, which can display the input video, audiometer and video standards. The rear panel features Quad Link 12G SDI inputs and loop through for HD, Ultra HD and 8K formats, as well as two DisplayPort connectors for regular computer screens and USB C/ DisplayPort screens such as the new Apple Pro Display XDR. The integrated scaler scales the input video to the native resolution of the connected DisplayPort screen. It processes up to 8K 4320p at up to 59.94 fps.
It also supports the monitoring of HDR material including PQ and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) formats, as well as the color spaces Rec.2020, Rec.709 and also DCI-P3. The Teranex Mini SDI to DisplayPort 8K HDR will be available in October for 1,295.
