Two weeks after the last one, Blackmagic has already released another new update for its free grading, editing, compositing and audio mastering program DaVinci Resolve (Studio). The 18.0.4 update, however, only brings support for the new Blackmagic RAW 2.7, as well as the usual performance and stability improvements. The new version 2.7 Blackmagic RAW, which has also been released as SDK - brings support for Blackmagic RAW clips recorded with Blackmagic Video Assist 12G HDR from the Fujifilm X-H2 and ZCam E2, E2-M4, E2-S6 and E2-F6 cameras.
The Fusion Studio 18.0.4 update, also just released, brings general performance and stability improvements to Fusion Studio.
Blackmagic notes that installing DaVinci Resolve 18 (and newer versions) requires upgrading the project library from all versions prior to 18.0b5. Blackmagic therefore recommends backing up the existing database (both DiskDB and PostgreSQL) and then restoring that database for the upgrade before upgrading to this version. However, once the Project Library is upgraded to 18, this library cannot be used in earlier versions of DaVinci Resolve.
