Blackmagic Design introduced the new DeckLink IP 100G at NAB 2025. This is a PCIe 4.0 card for simultaneous recording and playback of up to eight channels in HD and Ultra HD quality within 2110 IP systems.

DeckLink IP cards work not only with DaVinci Resolve, but also with numerous programs from other manufacturers or even with self-programmed special solutions. Blackmagic provides its own SDK for this purpose. The cards support Mac Pro, Windows and Linux computers and are mostly used to receive, process and output video signals from a studio network.
All DeckLink IP cards comply with the IP video standard SMPTE ST 2110, which defines the transmission, synchronization and description of video, audio and ancillary data via managed IP networks for broadcasting. A common PTP clock ensures the synchronization of video sources. DeckLink IP cards support SMPTE 2110-20 for uncompressed video, SMPTE 2110-21 for traffic shaping/timing, SMPTE 2110-30 for audio and SMPTE 2110-40 for ancillary data. SMPTE 2110 has the great advantage that all video, audio and ancillary data are transported as separate data streams over a network, and inexpensive PC network technology can be used for cabling.
Connected to a host computer, DeckLink IP cards are fast enough to handle multiple HD and Ultra HD video channels, as well as simultaneous recording and playback on each channel, depending on the model. PCI Express offers low latency and highly accurate time synchronization with the software that captures or plays back the video content.

The new DeckLink IP 100G is now expected to enable eight Ultra HD video channels with simultaneous recording and playback via two QSFP28 fiber optic Ethernet ports. It supports formats such as Apple ProRes, DNxHD and even 10-bit uncompressed. The DeckLink IP 100G ports are multi-rate capable and support all SD, HD and Ultra HD standards up to 2160p/120.
However, 100G network components are by no means an inexpensive standard, but are only just beginning to become widespread. However, anyone setting up a new infrastructure in a production environment should already be in a fairly future-proof position with this, as 100G is considered to be the upcoming standard infrastructure for SMPTE ST 2110 networks.
The DeckLink IP 100G card is scheduled to be available from July at a price of 2079 euros from the typical Blackmagic Design resellers.
