Action cams are old news – now they're facing competition from filming glasses. A sports camera glasses with AI is currently being offered on Kickstarter, capturing POV videos with a 120° viewing angle. While the BleeqUp Ranger's FullHD recordings at max 30fps can't compete with dedicated action cam specialists like GoPro in terms of image quality, the approx. 50g glasses come with several additional functions.

BleeqUp Ranger Sport-Kamerabrille
It is equipped with a small speaker system and microphones, so you can listen to music on the go and communicate with your sports buddies like a walkie-talkie. Two novel XMEMS speakers with special drivers are installed for this purpose, which should provide a full audio spectrum from 20Hz to 40kHz.
An "intelligent" co-pilot function should help with navigation using spoken instructions - routes can be imported into an accompanying app as GPX files. And ultimately, you also have protective glasses on.
It can be operated via a few buttons on the frame or via a Bluetooth controller. While other smart glasses with a camera tend to have short operating times, you should be able to film for up to five hours here - the integrated battery lasts for about 60 minutes, and an additional battery pack provides power for another four. It is connected via cable and weighs extra, of course.
The BleeqUp Ranger glasses have 32GB of storage and a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 chip. The video recordings are electronically stabilized using deep learning algorithms. With AI, automatic cuts of the video recordings can also be created in the app.
Regularly, the AI camera glasses will later cost 449 dollars, currently you can pre-order them at a discount in crowdfunding from 265 euros - but with the usual risks there (no delivery, bad product, etc.). BleeqUp Ranger is the first product of the developers in Hong Kong, but they are said to come partly from industry giants such as ByteDance, Lenovo or Xiaomi. Among other things, the glasses were apparently exhibited at the MWC 2025 in Barcelona.
