The Magic Lantern development of the lossless RAW recording for the 100D (SL1) is making great strides forward. This is remarkable for several reasons. The D100 / SL1 is not only part of Canon's smallest DSLRs, but it is also remarkably cheap (especially when bought used). It has an APS-C sensor with 5K horizontal pixels and a 1:1 readout, which will only allow for crop factors between 4 and 5. However, the sensor readout can also be summarized for a larger area, but probably with corresponding aliasing artifacts and moires.
However, the uncompressed lossless RAW recording of 10 and 12 bits should in turn make cinemascope HD-RAW recordings possible (e. g. with 1920 x 720 pixels). Limit is the SD card slot with a maximum write rate of 40 MB/s. This might be a cheap way to dive into the world of lossless RAW recording with Magic Lantern. And also to take along a particularly compact DSLR;)
