With the Cage Kit for the Canon EOS C80, accessory manufacturer SmallRig presents an interesting cage concept for the C80, building on the proven cage kit for the C70 but also incorporating several modular improvements.
The modular base plate seems to be derived from the C70 Cage Kit, which can be divided/adapted for use on DJI Ronin gimbals. The basic design as a "half cage" with a connection between the base plate and top plate featuring NATO rail and threaded holes remains the same.
New, however, is the now modular design of the upper NATO rail, which can now also be removed, the handgrip now attachable to the left side of the camera including a vertical mounting option, and a mount for a lens adapter.
Furthermore, the Canon EOS C80's focal plane marker can now be reattached to the upper cage and thus more easily used for distance measurements.
