Canon expands its range of 4K UHD broadcast lenses. The zoom lenses CJ24ex7.5B, CJ18ex7.6B and CJ14ex4.3B for camcorders with 2/3" sensor will appear in a new lens category UHDgc, which should combine high optical quality with easy operability. Fields of application are beside ENG also docu, sport and event. The first number in the model names refers to the optical zoom factor, the second to the initial focal length (calculated to 2/3").
Canon´s own optical design will provide a 4K resolution from the center of the image to the edge. Chromatic aberrations are minimized thanks to an optimized arrangement of fluorite and UD lenses. Special coatings are designed to prevent reflections, stray light and ghosting.
The CJ24ex7.5B and CJ14ex4.3B will be released in summer, the CJ18ex7.6B will follow in autumn. Prices are still outstanding.
