After Canon had already announced the presentation of its new full-frame hybrid lenses for its EOS R system, the curtain was lifted today. With the RF 70-200mm F2.8 L IS USM Z, the RF 50mm F1.4 L VCM and the RF 24mm F1.4 L VCM, Canon is expanding its portfolio of lenses specially designed for both photo and video with RF mount. Characteristic of Canon&s new ‘hybrid’ range is the return of the aperture ring on the lens to give filmmakers more manual control, servo zoom options on selected lenses, an 11-blade diaphragm, electronically assisted parfocal zooming and minimised focus breathing.
