The Sony Burano seems to be about to be delivered - and the accessory manufacturers are positioning themselves accordingly. In a Burano Release Special, Chrosziel presents its electronic PL mount adapter as well as the Sony Burano Standard and Advanced Kit. ;)
The Chrosziel Burano Mount Adapter should be of interest to all those who want to control a complete metadata transfer via PL (LDS, Cooke /i-Data) or broadcast lenses on the Burano Chrosziel Burano Mount Adapter The Chrosziel Burano Mount is a so-called "hot mount" adapter that adapts from the Sony Burano camera to PL lenses with metadata communication. ;) The connection has the necessary pin contacts required for transferring lens metadata to the camera. In addition, the contacts enable corresponding lens control via a 12-pin Hirose Out connection - for an ENG lens, for example. If the Burano Mount is used with cine lenses with LDS or Cooke /i data, the metadata such as aperture setting, focus distance and zoom focal length can be transferred via the adapter and displayed in the viewfinder and on the monitor. The data is also recorded in the video file for use in post-processing. Using the Burano Mount with an ENG servo motor-controlled broadcast lens, the Focus/Iris/Zoom servo’s can be controlled through the camera and are compatible with the Sony Burano GP-VR100 hand grip, Sony FX9 top handle, RCP or camera’s web GUI. This allows for easy and full control of an ENG broadcast lens through the Sony Burano camera. The Burano mount can be adjusted in flange focal distance with the supplied shim set. Chrosziel Burano Standard Kit The Chrosziel Burano Standard Kit consists of the 401-BUR-TOP top plate with 15mm rods and the 401-VEN lightweight support with integrated shoulder pad and tripod adapter plate known from the Sony Venice. ;) In contrast to the universal shoulder baseplates from other manufacturers, camera-specific lightweight supports such as this one from Chrosziel usually have the advantage of being lightweight. Accordingly, the Chrosziel LWS weighs only 600g without rods. If you need a particularly lightweight shoulder solution for the Burano and are not travelling with different cameras (except Sony Venice), you may find the right accessory here. Chrosziel Burano Advanced Kit The Chrosziel Burano Advanced Kit includes three brackets for the sides and rear in addition to the top plate and lumbar spine. ;) The Advanced Kit offers comprehensive mounting options via 1/4" and 3/8" threads as well as increased protection for the Sony Burano.
