Corel's latest version of its editing program for ambitious hobby users brings some interesting new features such as new color correction functions, custom transitions, MultiCam capturing, Tiny Planet effect, and split-screen videos with keyframes. Enhancements include the mask tool, new titling options, and numerous new effects and plug-ins, including NewBlue Video Essentials V, Boris Title Studio, ProDad, Vitascene V3 LE, Mercalli V4, and Adorage Volume 13.
Color Grading in Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2019
The innovations in detail:
- Color Grading: the mood and ambience of a video can be adjusted using color correction and adjustment tools. Each color can be fine-tuned using e.g. HSL tuning, tone curves or look-up table profiles (LUT). LUT profiles can be saved as presets for future clips.
- Custom transitions: seamless transitions can be used to switch from one scene to another via mirror, zoom or other effect. Or imperceptibly by Morph Transitions. You can create your own transitions as well as select from templates.
- Split screen video with keyframes: several videos can be shown in user-defined split screens which are controlled by keyframes.
- MultiCam Capture Lite: the input of several cameras (or for example a screen video and the input of a webcam) can be combined in the MultiCam Editor.
- Tiny Planet" effects: 360-degree footage can be converted into spherical panoramas to create the "Tiny Planet" or "Rabbit Building" effect.
- Video editing shortcuts: your own workflow can be accelerated using the new keyboard shortcuts/hotkeys.
Corel VideoStudio Ultimate 2019 accelerates many features such as rendering popular file formats through computations or (for the first time) alpha-channel video using an Intel/Nvidia graphics card.
If desired, the user can switch between the CPU and the Inel/Nvidia GPU for calculation. Fast and smooth editing and playback of high-resolution 4K video is made possible by using Corel's SmartProxy technology, which works with lower-resolution videos and only renders the results in full resolution.
