The recently updated version 16 of Cyberlink's hobby video editor brings some new features. Since the last update it is already possible to edit 360° material, now a subsequent image stabilization of the spherical videos is added. In addition, titles and transitions can be inserted in 360° projects without distortion.
A new feature is the ability to import look-up tables (LUTs) for color matching and grading logarithmically recorded videos. A native QuickTime import seems to be implemented as well. It also includes automatic color matching, i. e. saturation, light and color matching in videos, as well as a video collagen designer that can arrange up to seven different clips in different split screen compositions. Audio ducking has been added to the audio section, a feature that automatically lowers some tracks (e. g. background music) when speaking on another track.
The stand-alone ColorDirector 6 and AudioDirector 8 programs -- which are also part of the PowerDirector 16 Ultimate Suite -- have also been updated. Both support 360° video editing, the ColorDirector offers new corrections at the click of a mouse, including keyframes, a simple demister and noise reduction. The AudioDirector automatically adjusts the length of a background track to match the video length and apparently creates ambient noise for silent sections (from adjacent recordings) so that the silence is not noticeable.
The PowerDirector 16 Ultimate Suite costs 249.99 Euros (including AudioDirector 8, ColorDirector 6, premium content from the manufacturers NewBlue, proDAD and BorisFX worth 900 Euros and 50 GB of storage space on the CyberLink Cloud for one year). Director Suite 6 also includes PhotoDirector 9 for 50 Euro more. The PowerDirector 16 Ultimate for 129.99 euros contains premium content worth over 700 euros and 25 GB of storage space on the CyberLink Cloud for one year, the Ultra version for 99.99 euros contains 25 GB of storage space on the CyberLink Cloud for one year. PowerDirector 16 Deluxe without add-ons costs 59,99 Euro.
